Do we have to be members of the Used Car Dealers Association of Ontario to join the UCDA Employee Benefits Plan?

Like with all UCDA member services, only members in good standing with the UCDA of Ontario are eligible to join in the health and dental insurance plan. Membership in the UCDA must be maintained at all times in order to maintain your health insurance coverage.

Is participation in the UCDA Employee Benefits plan guaranteed for all UCDA members?

No, participation is not guaranteed. Members of the UCDA are encouraged to apply for coverage. Approval is dependent on a number of factors including your health status or size of the group of employees, and whether you currently have similar coverage.

What happens if we already have a current benefits plan in place?

We can analyze your coverage and price to see if a change to the UCDA Employee Benefits Plan would be advantageous to you. We prepare a comparison chart highlighting the important differences in plan design. To properly assess, we need two years of your health and dental claims experience from your current provider, along with your benefits booklet and employee data.

Who provides the insurance coverage for the UCDA plan?

The plan is self-insured and backed by the strength of the association and our funding reserve. We bring together a number of insurers for various components of the plan, but members experience it seamlessly.

How do members submit their claims?

Depending on the type of claim, various methods of reimbursement are used.

  • Drug claims are paid directly at the pharmacy (minus co-pay percentage).

  • With dental claims, you typically pay the dentist and the dental office submits the claim electronically on your behalf.

  • Other claim types are paid through our iOS and Android NexMobile smartphone app, where you take a picture of your claim receipt and submit it right through the app.

  • Direct deposit is available and is strongly encouraged to speed up payment processing.
